Makeup Tips

Makeup has been around since the even the earliest of civilizations, so it’s no wonder how wonderfully versitile and useful it has become to us to this day. It helps us enhance our natural beauty, create visual illusions, and simply hide some unwanted flaws. With palettes ranging with thousands of colors, tones, textures, and uses; makeup today has no limitation to its possibilities. So here’s a page dedicated to everything makeup.

The first step to any makeup look, and one of the most important, is an evenly toned face. The trick to this is finding the right foundation and concealer for your skin type and tone. Make sure you blend well to avoid the dreaded “foundation line” and so that it looks natural.

After that, pretty much anything’s game. If you decide to play up your eyes, techniques and tricks can help you achieve virtually any look you desire. And depending on the occasion, you can go as dramatic as you want. Experiment with different methods when putting on eyeshadow, as your eye shape may look better with a technique you may have not originally expected. Also, take the oppertunity to enhance your eyes based on your own eye color, because this is almost guaranteed to be very flattering!

Keep in mind the basic steps when putting on eyeshadow, these of course vary depending on the look you’re going for, but they are the formula to beautifully finished eyes. On the upper eyelid apply a medium shade in the color of your choice, and with a lighter shade, highlight the center of the eyelid under the browbone. Using a darker shade, define the crease of your eye in whatever way flatters your eyes the most. Be sure to blend the colors very well. With a very light color, highlight the area in the ach of the brow, and in the teardrop corner of the eye. To finish off any look, line the eyes with any form of eyeliner and coat the lashes with a good mascara. If desired, also fill in the eyebrows for a complete and polished look, and you’re set!

Another way to really bring together a look is by using blush. Whether it’s just a dab on the apples of the cheeks to add some color, or you use contouring techniques to bring out your cheekbones, blush is a handy tool that people often underestimate or forget about.

And who could forget about the lips. You can choose to make your lips the stars of the show, or keep it simple and play them down. Either way, lips are a very important feature to the whole picture. Like the eyes, there are so many different choices the way you decide to display your lips, you could line them then color them in with a lipstick, or keep them nude by simply evening them out with your foundation then applying some clear lip gloss; the options are really endless! Just choose a method that compliments the rest of the look, and make sure to keep those lips healthy and moisturized!
